I obligation a notebook w/ a directx 10 graphics card w/ at least around 512mb, 17 or more peak, and windows vista. All for around or lower than $2000. The only one I own found so far is by HP. Does anyone else know of a laptop w/ similar specs?

You better look for more run into than that. 2 GB is the minimum I would recommend with vista. It is a hog! 512 surrounded by minimal and I've seen it run contained by 1GB and it will make the intricate drive thrash with adjectives of the bells and whistles turned on.
