Like my laptop seem to be mising its tricky drive?

Hi my gateway 4026gz laptop does not own a hard drive and these are concrete drive specs 40 GB

2.5-inch diameter

9.5 mm height they told me it doesnt enjoy to be the exact one that laptop came near it just have to be 2.5 inch in diameter resembling the original is that true ?
