7900GS is the high-end Directx 9 video card while 8600M GT, which i predict, will be low-end directx 10 video card (in the future). Which one should I choose?

Go with the 8600 GT, since it's get the advantage that it's DirectX10 skilled. Also, in the adjectives, the 8600GT will probably be better than the 7900GS, since it's drivers are still under nouns.
