I am planning on buying a notebook, which have a decent international warranty. Initially I be told that probably HP provides it (and without much extra cost), but I can't come across to locate it precisely on the website or thru customer care empire. Would someone know something about it(from experience or otherwise)? Any pointers? Any other laptop recommended from this angle? This is urgent, pl!

Your best bet is IBM Thinkpad strip - worldwide support.
If you want world-wide onsite service, you would be better off buying a 2nd part and keeping it for standby if the first unit breaks.
Contact the Business Services division of doesn`t matter what brand you ultimately choose, and speak to them about your requirements.

I live in Canada, but I worked for a US company that provided a Dell laptop. The warranty they purchased covered on-site repairs contained by Canada.
