Is it possible to upgrade from an Intel Celeron processor to an AMD Athlon 64 (X2 or not, I dont care) on a Compaq Presario 2500?

Um, NO!!
You can't coppers cpu types (intel to AMD or AMD to intel) - even on desktop systems (atleast not on currently designed systems).
You may be able to upgrade to any a slightly faster celeron, or a standard Intel cpu (same pin packages only).
Some boards will support different voltage cpus as well, but if you exchange to another voltage cpu, you can have overheating issues. Not other, but has be known to take place.
What I would do is pull the model/part number of the laptop, research other sub-models (model variation of the same nonspecific model) and the cpu options they come with.
You may find a 25XX model that have a faster cpu.
A hint... find a catalogue of models similar to yours, download the most current bios's for each model and compare the bios programs. The ones that are compatible use identical motherboards. ;)
BTW: You would benefit from upgrading the bios to the most current release to amend your chances of the motherboard properly ID'ing any tentative CPU.
If you can replace the celeron with a standard Intel CPU of like peas in a pod speed, you will see an improvement. I would do that as a minimum.

No, the pins won't match.
The Intel Celeron have 775 pins and the AMD 64 has 939, if memory serves.
AND, it may not be possible to upgrade the CPU surrounded by your laptop, even if you used a compatible Intel CPU.

Laptop Turns bad?
Hi,
i will be using it later it will just turn rotten, diffrent lenghts of time from 5mins to 1hr or so. but when it turn back on it sits at hand with a blank peak beeping at me. it happend once and wouldnt turn bk on so have an expert take it away and he get it goin agen.
Any ideas?? someone said could be using to much memory and adjectives out, i dunt know if thats right as i dont know much about these things.

Well I would vote that it is over heating that is to say causing this. It could be over clocked or in that could be a power problem. I would go to the invention and see what could be wrong.
it is probably over heating phone manufacture and dispatch it back if its underneath warrinty
It sounds like an over heat issue, try replacing the fan next to a faster one and keep the nouns with the enthusiast exposed and not covered.

It sounds to me as if you are have a problem with the battery-operated, or the dc connector is not properly plugged in and the freestyle is not charging properly. Since you do not know much about laptops, I suggest, anything the problem is, that you return it to the manufacturers if it is lower than warranty or look for computer repairers in your ashen pages or within your local paper or ask a friend who may know someone. We can simply ques what the problem might be and cannot guide you to repair it. It cannot be the cooling fan unless within is no supply to the cooling fan. It can also be a virus or the easier said than done disk may have lots bad sector or it may be just switching rotten to save the supply when standing unexploited for a few minutes.

I enjoy a plague that connects laptop to Tv which have ( red and white cease to TV and one black end to laptop ) , and when i press Fn + F5 it will craft the screen appears on the TV , but surrounded by black and white screen and in need any sounds.

After plugging contained by the cable from the monitor to the VGA port on the laptop, you need to press Fn+one of the F buttons on the top. I chew over for Presario, it should F8, but you may want to look on the F buttons to see which one that can use that function. You can look for either CRT/LCD words, or you can look for rectangular symbol that have been fixed into the key. If it is not projected, hold Fn and press the F button a few times and it should be projected onto the blind.
If you are not sure which F button it is, you may want to take a photo of the baby grand, especially the F button and update it in your sound out so that I can confirm which button to press to project it onto the screen.

Laptop suddently stopped going online.?
Essentially overnight, my toshiba laptop won't be in motion online - wirelessly or plugged in. We hold two laptops in the house - one is working without blemish. Mine shows that I am online but when I use internet explorer - it shows the error page.
I am running windows xp and norton 360. Norton briefly showed I have a virus but haven't been competent to sort that out.
Reading through responses their seems to be a run of laptaps doing matching thing.

WinsockXPfix is a util you can download that will repair your drivers, or you can use the integrated tools (xp sp2 only) - at command prompt type 'netsh winsock reset' (no quotes) and follow the directions to reboot your system.
